Stratford racecourse is a triangular National Hunt course with runners racing in a left handed direction. The small course is situated in Warwickshire which is very popular most meetings through the year. In a full circumference there are 8 jumps with a water jump directly in front of the finish post. There is a lot of racing history at Stratford with races dating back to the 1700’s. There is only 1 feature race throughout the year which is in May. The Foxhunters Champion Hunters Chase is over 3 miles and 3 furlongs.
The fences are easy which makes it a good course for trainers to send novice jumpers. Even though the jumps are easy the triangular shaped course is very tight making position key. The finish is easy making it exciting to watch from the stands. Races are at high speed making the easy fences more difficult than they should be. This can catch out a lot of novice riders with the course being so flat.
When looking at form, previous form can be replicated from Bangor, Aintree, Newton Abbot, Kelso, Kempton and Market Rasen. With previous race history in any of these courses will help in deciding picks for Stratford.
