Newmarket racecourse is the home of British horse racing. Based in Suffolk the course offers the very best in Flat racing. The town is home to the most thoroughbred racehorses and trainers than anywhere else in the world. There are actually 2 courses that are run at Newmarket, the Rowley Mile course and the July course. Most commonly known as the summer course, the July course is used throughout the summer months with a 1 mile straight. The Rowley Mile course is the biggest test out of the 2 with an uphill struggle to the finish.

Newmarket course is very wide and suits front runners due to most of the course being downhill until the final stretch of the track. The winter course is fair to all runners yet the summer course has a strong bias for low and high drawn horses.

The Rowley mile course is fair due to the barriers being constantly moved to reduced wear of the track. This can throw out the betting a bit but it makes for a fair race every time. It’s all about luck of the draw, literally!

There’s an incredible 41 feature races held at Newmarket during the racing calendar. These include the 1000 Guineas and the 2000 Guineas which are held in May every year. When following our Newmarket horse racing tips it’s worth watching the first couple of races of the day to see how the draw is affecting horses. This way you will see the draw pattern which will make a big difference on betting. Often at Newmarket we post out racing tips in the afternoon and notify members by email.

With Newmarket being one of the best racecourses in the world, of course the drainage systems are the best in the industry. This means a lot of rain needs to come down to affect the ground so generally we don’t see heavy going here.

Trainers to look out for at Newmarket are Mark Johnston and A O’Brien. Both trainers have a lot of experience at the course and a quality win rate with Mark Johnston have a huge strike rate over the past 3 years.

Top jockeys at Newmarket for this year are William Buick, Jim Crowley and Ryan Moore. Ryan Moore and William Buick have a very similar strike rate but with Buick running 30 more races showing more consistency on the track.
