Aidan O’Brien is a race horse trainer based in Ireland in County Tipperary. Over his career he has won numerous awards and was the first horse racing trainer to achieve 300 G1 victories. At the beginning of his career he worked professionally at P.J Finns stable in Curragh. Aidan O’Brien is married to Anne-Marie Crowley who’s father Joe Crowley trained horses at a professional level but now retired. The couple have 4 children who have all turned out to be jockeys, Sarah, Joseph, Anastasia and Donnacha. Joseph Crowley became an apprentice jockey for his father Aidan and they went on to win the Epsom Derby with Camelot. Aidan O’Brien is known as the most successful trainer in racing history. With over 200 listed winners, Group 1 wins in 9 countries at 15 distances and 61 Royal Ascot victories it’s not much of a surprise. He has been the champion trainer for Great Britain 5 times and Irish champion trainer and incredible 19 times. His horses have earned over £170,000,000 in his career which is incredible in the racing industry.

In 1993/94 Aidan O’Brien became the amateur Champion jockey which was the same year that he had trained his first winning horse. This was also the same day that he became a licensed trainer. He has been Ireland’s youngest champion trainer since 1996. He has held this title continuously since 1998. O’Brien then went on to win the British Champion Trainer in 2001 and the very first to hold the title from over seas. He has made incredible achievements through his racing career and it’s easy to see why he is one of the best race horse trainers in the world.
